This policy explains how Kelly Stake (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit this website, join the waitlist, contact us, or use the Kelly Stake service at app.kellystake.com. We are based in the United Kingdom and are the controller of your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. What we collect
When you visit this website. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical data needed to deliver and protect it — such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.
When you join the waitlist. Your full name, email address, date of birth and country. We ask for date of birth and country because betting is restricted by age and by where you live: they decide who we can let in, and in what order. We refuse entries from anyone under 18.
When you contact us. Your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
When you have an account.
- Account details: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password — or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email address and account identifier Google shares with us.
- The age, terms and risk confirmations you gave when signing up.
- Betfair connection details you provide, used only to read markets and place orders on your instructions — never to deposit or withdraw funds.
- Your trading configuration: strategies, risk limits and alert preferences.
- Activity: orders, positions, strategy decisions, and the market data they were based on, so your decision log and performance history are accurate.
2. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To run the waitlist and invite people in — our legitimate interest in managing early access responsibly, including checking age and location.
- To provide the service to account holders — performing our contract with you.
- To keep records we are required to keep — compliance with legal obligations.
- To secure the website and service and prevent misuse — our legitimate interests.
- To reply when you contact us — our legitimate interest in answering you.
We will email you about your place on the waitlist, your account, and the alerts you choose. We will not send you marketing emails unless you have agreed to them, and each one will let you unsubscribe. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Cookies and browser storage
This website uses none. The Kelly Stake app uses only what it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a short-lived cookie that secures Google sign-in, and browser storage that remembers your light or dark theme. Because these are strictly necessary for a service you asked for, they do not require consent.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google Cloud — hosts the Kelly Stake app and its database, in London.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Google Workspace — our email.
When you connect your Betfair account, orders and account requests go to Betfair, which handles that data under its own privacy policy. If you sign in with Google, Google does the same for your sign-in. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. International transfers
The Kelly Stake database is stored in the United Kingdom. Some of our providers are based, or process data, outside the UK — including in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
6. How long we keep it
- Waitlist entries — until you ask to be removed, or until we close the waitlist, when entries that have not become accounts are deleted.
- Account and trading records — while your account is open, then for up to six years after it closes so we can deal with disputes and meet legal and tax obligations, after which they are deleted.
- Emails with us — for as long as we need to deal with your query.
- Hosting logs — for a limited period set by our hosting providers.
7. Keeping it secure
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as hashes, access to our systems is restricted, and the database behind the Kelly Stake app is not reachable from this website. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office when the law requires us to.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of your personal data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted, unless we are required to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including where we rely on legitimate interests;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
To use any of these rights, email contact@kellystake.com. We will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113 — though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
9. Under-18s
Kelly Stake is only for people aged 18 or over. If we learn that we hold personal data about someone under 18, we delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and its date, and tell account holders about significant changes before they take effect.
